Hello, I'm Mary Aragon.
Hello, friend! My name is Mary Aragon. I am a fifty-something mom. I have raised from cradle to adulthood two neurodiverse sons-ages 28 and 21. My oldest is on the autism spectrum with a variety of comorbidities; and my youngest with ADHD. Almost 22 years ago when my oldest son was diagnosed with Autism, the struggle to find resources was tough. Finding and making connections with parents who’d been there and could share parenting wisdom was even more difficult in those early days since an Autism diagnosis was about 1/150. I am a ten-year veteran youth and family minister, entrepreneur, cooking school owner, eleven-year veteran home educator. My sons were in the public school system prior to our homeschooling journey. I bring a unique and well-rounded skillset to the table. I have compiled my years of diverse experience with children, youth and families, catering, cooking school experience, homeschooling, along with my personal journey of raising neurodiverse sons, to offer unique culinary life skills classes, and parent/life skills coaching services. I love cooking, teaching, helping young people grow towards personal independence by learning the life skill of cooking and all that it entails. I love sharing parenting resources. While all our parenting journeys are different, it is always helpful to connect with others which have walked the path before you. I have walked that path with all the challenges and joys. I am dedicated to bringing other parents resources, information and support I wish I knew about when my guys were growing up. Through my 1:1 culinary and life skills classes, I offer personalized support for the neurodiverse individual in your life. My virtual kitchen is on-demand. The curriculum is mindfully and purposefully designed for learning in the home environment. Students learn basic culinary and organizational skills essential for navigating the kitchen and future independent living. By connecting virtually, students begin with a base level of comfort and knowledge since they will be learning in their own home kitchen. Through my 1:1 parent coaching I offer personalized support for you and your family’s unique needs. You will find a judgement free space where you can share your parenting concerns, goals and victories openly. You’ll learn about resources, practical tools, and signature strategies that will empower you to thrive as a parent while also learning skills to create an environment for encouraging future independence for your son/daughter. Let’s connect and see if 1:1 coaching is right for you and your family.
